ALEASE CALDER PORTER FLORENCE, SC ALEASE CALDER PORTER, 85, of Florence, died Monday, April 16, 2012 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mrs. Porter was born in Marion, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Curtis Mack Calder and Lucy Caulder Calder.She retired from Piggott Orthopaedics after fifteen yearsas a transcriptionist/medical secretary.Mrs. Porter was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and of the Florence Baptist Temple.She was a Christian mother who filled her home with love and laughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John E. Porter, Jr. , her brother, Joe R. Calder, her sisters, Margaret C. Martin, Dorothy Singletary, and Margie C. Weldon. Surviving are her daughter, Kathy P. (Jesse) Norton of Florence; her sons, John E. Porter, III and his fiancé, Cindy Hommes of Myrtle Beach,and Rusty Lee (Dawn) Porter, of Myrtle Beach ;sisters, Grace C. Lindgren, Agnes C. Hershberger, and Curtis Mae Caulder;nine grandchildren, Michael and Kurt Norton, Paula Shriver, Brandon, Josh and Haley Porter, C.J., Britney and R.J. Porter; seven great-grandchildren, Gavin Norton, Gage Norton, River and Riley Norton, Adrianna Porter, and Ashlan and Ethan Shriver. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Florence Baptist Temple. Burial will follow in the Florence National Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
