Alice Miller Freeman

Alice Miller Freeman, 81, of Florence, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2022. Mrs. Freeman was born in Hemingway, SC a daughter of Tom Mack Miller and Ruth Itilene Williams Miller.She was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church and was co-owner and operator of A & B Florist for 38 years.Alice loved people, giving to her community, reading books, and going to the beach to eat.Her life was her family and the flower shop.Over the years, all of the people that worked for her and were her customers became an extension of her family.The shop wasn’t just a business, it was another home where everyone was welcome.Having people stop and visit was one of her greatest joys.To know her was to love her and she always had a twinkle in her eyes and kept us all on our toes.In her later years, she reveled in being able to spoil her grandchildren and they were always happy to go along with her shenanigans. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Dexter Stone; second husband, Bill Freeman, and her siblings, Tom Miller, Dottie Thompson, Roger Miller, Maxine Hughes, and Amanda Oates. Surviving are her sons, Dexter (Teri) Stone of Clinton, NC and B.J. Freeman of Florence; daughters, Jodie (Conrad) Seastrunk and Leslie (Chris) Carpenter, both of Florence; grandchildren, Paul (Kelli) Stone, Eric Seastrunk, Jenna Seastrunk, Willow Carpenter, and Flynn Carpenter; sister, Patti Perry of Hemingway, along with many beloved nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1 – 3 pm Friday, July 8, 2022 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home with the service to be held at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens.
