ALICE JANETTE BROACH HAWKINS FLORENCE, SC Alice Janette Broach Hawkins, 75, of Florence, wife of the late Rev. George Hawkins, died Thursday, April 12, 2012 in a Florence hospital. Mrs. Hawkins was born August 16, 1936 in Florence Co., SC a daughter of the late Ernest B and Ella Mae Hatchell Broach.She attended Peace Free Will Baptist Church and retired from sales at JC Penney. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Charles R. Broach and a step-son, Steve Hawkins. Surviving are her brothers, Herman Broach of Hartsville, Ralph (Annie Mae) Broach of Florence, Ranerson (Mary) Broach of Effingham, Earnest (Betty) Broach of Florence, Larry (Shirley) Broach of Effingham; sister-in-law, Yvonne Broach of Kingstree; step-daughter-in-law, Janet Hawkins of West Columbia; grandson, Stevie Hawkins of Columbia; three great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Peace Free Will Baptist Church.Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Peace Free Will Baptist Church, 897 Third Loop Road, Florence, SC29505.
