ALVIN FENTON "BO" POWELL, SR. FLORENCE, SC ALVIN FENTON “BO” POWELL, SR., 69, of Florence, died Thursday, November 18, 2010 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mr. Powell was born in Florence, SC a son of the late Fenton Lamar and Eunice Gaskins Powell.He was a member of the Beechnut Hunt Club and a member of the Greater Vision Tabernacle. He retired as a self employed plumber. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Surviving are his wife, Debra C. Howard Powell of the home; children, Alvin F. Powell, Jr. and his special friend, Monica McDowell, Traci Powell Singletary and her husband, Terry Singletary, all of Florence; sisters, Faye Metzgar of Florence and Grace Matthews of Ohio; grandchildren, Ashleigh Hutter and her special friend, Terrance Wilson, Graham McDowell, Owen Powell and Taylor Powell, all of Florence; great-grandchildren, Marleigh Wilson and Hendrix Wilson, both of Florence; a special family friend, Tommie Lynn Powell of Florence. Memorials may be made to Carolinas Hospice, PO Box 100550, Florence, SC29501. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, November 21, 2010 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow in the Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the funeral home.
