Amanda Miller Oates

Amanda Miller Oates, 76, of Florence, SC passed away on January 30, 2022. She was born in Hemingway, SC on September 8th, 1945, the daughter of Tom Mack and Itilene Williams Miller. She graduated from Pleasant Hill High School and once she moved to Florence went on to work for The Floyd Medical Group until her retirement. After Amanda’s retirement she spent much of her time with her family including many nieces and nephews and their children. Amanda will be deeply missed by all but especially by the little ones that were blessed enough to call her “Butterfly Nanny”. The children that over the years she looked after and loved so dearly will always hold her in a special place in their hearts. Amanda was preceded in death by her husband Preston Oates, her son Brad Tindall, her brothers Tom and Roger Miller, and her sisters Maxine Miller Hughes and Dottie Miller Thompson. She is survived by her son Ray Tindall of Florence, daughter Monica Tindall Moore of Florence, sisters, Alice Freeman and Patti Perry; her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Stoudenmire Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
