AMY D. COLE STRICKLAND FLORENCE, SC AMY D. COLE STRICKLAND, 59, died Thursday, May 3, 2012, in a local healthcare facility. Mrs. Strickland was born in Johnsonville, SC, a daughter of the late Lloyd L. Cole, Sr. and Ouida Powell Cole.She graduated from Johnsonville High School and attend Florence Darlington TEC where she graduated with an Associate Degree in Dental Assistant and her Registered Nurse degree.Mrs. Strickland was employed for over twenty-five years as a Registered Nurse in all of the Florence area hospitals.The past several years she has spent most of her time working with Hospice and Home Health Care.She was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church and a member of the Pettigrew Sunday School Class. Mrs. Strickland was a loving wife, mother and sister.She loved her husband,her family and her God. Surviving is her husband of twenty-one years of marriage, J. Oral Strickland; three children, Cole Bryant Strickland of Florence, SC, Christie Strickland Doriety of Timmsonville, SC, and David Strickland of Summerville, SC;two sisters, Monique C. Hanna of York, SC and Emily C. Smith of Orange Park, FL; a brother, Jeff Cole of Florence, SC;five grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 5, at the Ebenezer Baptist church.Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Family Life Center.
