Anita Matthews Galloway Florence, SC Anita Matthews Galloway, 78, died Saturday, November 05, 2011 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Funeral service will be held at 4:p.m. Monday in the Chapel at Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Entombment will follow directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Mrs. Galloway was born in Florence Co, SC a daughter of the late Elijah John "E.J" Matthews and Rudolph Maude Anderson Lamb. She had attendedLamb's Chapel in Florence. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband T.A. Galloway, Jr., who died November 28, 2007. Surviving are 5 children, Gail (Franklin) Lewis, Marie (Billy) Stokes both of Florence, Debbie (Tom) McGoogan of Durham,NC, Marty (Susan) Galloway of Mt. Croghan,SCand Shirley (Jeff) Therrell of Vale, NC; one brother, Jimmy Matthews of Coward,SC; 4 sisters; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. The family suggests, that memorials be made to the McLeod Hospice House, P.O. Box 105511 Florence, SC29502.
