ANNE MAURICE PRINCE MCCORMICK FLORENCE, SC ANNE MAURICE PRINCE MCCORMICK, 65, of Florence, passed away Monday, June 20, 2011 at a local healthcare facility. Mrs. McCormick was born in Florence, SC, a daughter of the late William Clawson Prince and Ruby Eloise Coleman Prince Hyman.Mrs. McCormick was a trained nurse practitioner for the US Army, earning her BSN degree from the University of South Carolina. While stationed at Ft. Bragg, she went to Ft. Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania to assist in relocation of the Vietnamese refugees. She was a missionary in the Sellers Baptist Home and Adoption Agency in New Orleans.Mrs. McCormick formerly worked for the McLeod Hospital newborn nursery, the American Red Cross and was a retired public health nurse for the Florence County Health Department. She was a member of the Florence Baptist Temple, the Women in Touch and the Bible Fellowship Class. Mrs. McCormick was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, John Andrew Hyman, and a grandson, Aaron Michael McCormick. She is survived by her husband, James H. McCormick, Jr. of Florence; a son, James Michael (Crystal) McCormick of Florence; a daughter, Sheila (Michael) Connor of Fair Bluff, NC; and her grandchildren, Hannah Grace McCormick, Lilly Faith McCormick, Steven Connor, and Justin Connor. Memorials may be made to Florence Baptist Temple, 2308 South Irby Street, Florence, SC 29505; Pamplico First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 248, Pamplico, SC 29583 or to Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 784 N Pamplico Hwy, Pamplico, SC 29583. Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Pamplico. Burial will follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.
