Anne Padgett Toone

ANNE PADGETT TOONE FLORENCE, SC ANNE PADGETT TOONE, 86, of Florence, formerly of Kinsington, MD, died Sunday, August 7, 2011 at a Florence health care facility after an illness. Mrs. Toone was born in Florence, SC a daughter of the late James Obed Padgett and Sue Andrews Padgett.She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Thursday Afternoon Mission Group, the Triple "S" Club and a member of the senior choir.She retired in 1988 from the Riggs National Bank in Washington, DC. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas Leighton Toone, who died May 12, 2002; brothers, James Murry Padgett and J.O. Padgett; sisters, Dorothy Haga and Martha Elizabeth Higginbotham. Surviving are her sons, Thomas L. Toone, Jr. of Birmingham, AL and Duane Padgett Toone of Gaithersburg, MD; daughter, Jo Anne Toone Burke of Mt. Airy, MD; grandchildren, Matthew Toone of Pelham, AL, Brian Toone of Birmingham, AL and Jennifer Burke of Mt. Airy, MD; great-grandchildren, Analise Toone and Josiah Toone. Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 915 Cherokee Road, Florence, SC29501. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 11, 2011 in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
