Arbie Hugh Powell

Arbie Hugh Powell, of Florence, S.C. passed away on April 2, 2023. He was the son of Vesper Powell Sr. and Maebelle Powell. He enjoyed carpentry and serving our country in the United States Army Reserve for 37 years. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Arbie Hugh Powell Jr.; granddaughter, Ella Elizabeth Powell; brother, Vesper Powell Jr.; and sister, Addie Virginia Blanchard. Surviving are his spouse, Ellie Carol Banks Powell of Effingham; his daughter, Jennie Lynn Hacker(Chris); his son, Robert Dennis Powell(Rebekah), both of Florence; and three beautiful granddaughters, Bailey Lynn Hacker, Christina Leigh Hacker and Avery McQueen Powell. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 pm at the church prior to service. Interment will immediately follow at Turner Cemetery.
