Barbara Stanton Mcelveen

Barbara Stanton McElveen, 73, of Florence, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. Ms. McElveen was born in Florence, SC a daughter of Miriam Langston Lee and the late Lawrence B. Stanton, Sr.She was a past Vice-President of the Holden Beach Ladies Club, past treasure of the Brunswick County Crime Watch, and was past vice-president of the VFW #8866 in Holden Beach, NC and a member of the VFW #3181 in Florence, SC. Barbara was a past member of the Sharon United Methodist Church in Holden Beach and a member of the Bethesda Presbyterian Church. Surviving are her brother, Lawrence B. “Larry” Stanton, Jr.; sister, Donna Stanton Spring; nephews, Brian Lawrence Spring and Willian Donald “Bill” Stanton; great-nieces, Emma Grace Spring, Isabella Spring, and Macy Lynn Spring; great-nephew, John Wesley Spring; and affectionately known as “Aunt Barbara” by many, including Matthew, Sydney, Kayli, Cheryl, and Cary.
