Barbara Jean Petersen Pritchard

Barbara Jean Petersen Pritchard, 73, of Florence, SC, passed away April 8, 2025. She was the daughter of the late William Nelson Petersen and Jeanette Martha Smith Petersen. She had a deep love for her grandchildren and was passionate about nursing, always eager to help others. Her dedication was recognized with numerous awards, including the prestigious South Carolina Palmetto Gold. She enjoyed birdwatching, spending time at the beach, and cherished the company of her dogs. Cooking was another of her many passions, bringing her immense joy. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Emma Marie and brother, Bruce Nelson Petersen. Surviving is her former husband and father of her children, Joseph Clyde Pritchard Sr.; daughter, Andrea “Lea” Pritchard-Boone (Austin); son, “J.C.” Pritchard Jr. (Monique); grandchildren, Dalton Petersen, Wren Hart, Mason Thomas, Hannah Raine, and Haley Julia; and her brother, Douglas Nelson Petersen (Ann); cherished family members also include Julia Pritchard; John Pritchard Jr. (Susan); and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home with the memorial service to follow at 3:00 PM directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
