Beverly Jean P. Turner

Beverly Jean P. Turner, 73, of Florence, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Mrs. Turner was born in Florence, SC a daughter of the late Robert Lee Pitts and Gladys Louise Brown Pitts.She was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church where she was the church secretary and a children’s church leader for many years.She was formerly employed as a dental assistant and by Young’s Pecans, and was the co-owner of Sweet Serenity Gift Baskets. She was a preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Leslie Marie Turner; brother, Alan Kent Pitts; and by former spouse, William Jenkins Driggers. Surviving are her husband of over 50 years, Drexell Turner, Jr.; son, William Steven (Megan) Driggers; daughter, Rachel Turner (Will) Gainey; grandchildren, Matthew (Joy Brooke) Driggers, Joseph (Logan) Driggers, Samuel Driggers, Judson Driggers, John William Gainey, and Graycen Gainey; brother, Robert Mitchell Pitts. Memorials may be made to Rehoboth Baptist Church, 4546 Willow Creek Road, Florence, SC 29505 or to a charity of one’s choice. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 pm Monday, January 17, 2022 at Rehoboth Baptist Church with the service to be held at 2:00 pm in the church sanctuary.Burial will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
