Beverly Jean Windham Thomas, of Florence, SC, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31, 2025. Mrs. Thomas was born in Florence, SC on July 31, 1950 to the late Clyde Clayton Windham and Jacqueline Mitchum Windham. Mrs. Thomas attended school in Florence, graduating from McClenaghan High School in 1969. She was a loyal member of Florence Baptist Temple and a member of The Eastern Star for fifty years. She retired from Bell South, AT&T and Avaya after 40 years, working in Florence and Columbia, South Carolina, Atlanta, Georgia and Dayton, Ohio. After her retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas returned to Florence, South Carolina and enjoyed playing bridge and canasta with friends. Mrs. Thomas is survived by her loving husband of over forty years McAlvanay (Mac) Thomas of Florence, SC. Survivors also include their daughters; Valerie Jean Thomas Rawl (Jeffrey) and Melanie Chappell Thomas Brown (Christopher) both of Blythewood, SC; grandchildren include Jordan Rawl Cathcart (Carter), Abigail Rawl (Rob), Gordon Brown, Grant Brown, Lillian Brown and her first great-granddaughter; Emelyn Jane Cathcart, is expected this summer- all of Blythewood, SC. Survivors also include her brother; Ronnie Windham, nieces; Laura Suzanne Windham Pusser (Jay), Emily Windham Finklea (Tom) and nephew; Clay Windham (Katelyn); great nieces and nephews include; Addison Pusser, Hampton Pusser, Jacqueline Finklea and Slone Finklea. Mrs. Thomas is also survived by several loving cousins, family members and friends. The family will visit with relatives and friends Thursday April 3, 2025 from 1:00-2:00 PM, in the Chapel of Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home located at 2402 South Irby Street Florence, SC. Graveside service will be at 2:30 PM at Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
