Billy Charles Mcdowell

Billy Charles McDowell, 71, of Florence, SC, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at McLeod Hospice House. Mr. McDowell was born in Florence, SC, the son of the late Helen Haire Kersey. He originally retired from Delta Mills and was a retired truck driver. He was very charitable and loved working in his yard. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his son, Billy Charles McDowell, Jr.; sisters, Frances Harrington and Anna Lee Tarte; and brothers, George McDowell and Laverne McDowell. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Patsy Kennedy McDowell; son, Brad (Liza) McDowell; daughters, Michelle McDowell and Monica McDowell; grandchildren, Graham (Katie) McDowell, Colin McDowell and Carson McDowell; one great-grandchild on the way; brother, Wendell McDowell; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the residence of Brad and Liza, 424 Guildford Circle, Florence, SC 29501. Private Graveside Service will be held at a later date directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
