Bobby Gene Hewitt

BOBBY GENE HEWITT EFFINGHAM, SC BOBBY GENE HEWITT, 79, of Effingham, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the McLeod Hospice House in Florence. Mr. Hewitt was born in Florence Co., SC a son of the late Lonnie and Amelia Woodrow Hewitt.He was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church.He had been a Constable for the City of Florence and was Maintenance Director for the Housing Authority of Florence.Early in his life he was a farmer and enjoyed hunting and carpentry, later in life, he became an avid golfer and fisherman. Surviving are his son, Alvin (Robin) Hewitt of Florence; daughter, Karen H. (Bob) Hagan of Charleston; granddaughter, Talor Hewitt of Evergreen and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice House, PO Box 100551, Florence, SC29502, www.mcleodhealth.org. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 3, 2010 at Evergreen Baptist Church.Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
