Buel Gardner Baggott

BUEL GARDNER BAGGOTT FLORENCE, SC BUEL GARDNER BAGGOTT, 85, of Florence, passed away Monday, June 20, 2011 at a local healthcare facility. Mr. Baggott was born in Pelion, SC, a son of the late Henry Steven and Lila Mae Gardner Baggott.He was a US Navy veteran during WWII where he served as a Boatsman's mate on the USS Otterstetter. He retired from E.I. DuPont de Nemours and Company after 30 years. Mr. Baggott was a former assistant coroner and was a South Carolina certified EMT for 19 years. He was a founding member of Howe Springs Fire Department and a member of Unity Baptist Church. Mr. Baggott was the owner/operator of Medical Transport Company. Mr. Baggott was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Sybil Hardin Baggott; daughter, Pamela Hatchell Ham; a brother, Edward Baggott; and a sister, Joyce Carey. He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Amodeo of Florence; wife, Euline Baggott;four grandchildren, Christian Hatchell of Florence, Jon (Shelia) Ham, Jr. of Florence; Billy Amodeo and Natalie Amodeo both of New Jersey; and a sister, Doris Hartley of Pelion, SC. Memorials may be made to Unity Baptist Church, 2990 Pamplico Highway, Florence, SC 29505 or to the Florence Area Humane Society, 1007 Stockade Drive, Florence, SC 29506. Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Unity Baptist Church. Entombment will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
