Calvin Wells Hatchell

Calvin Wells Hatchell, Sr., 83, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022. Mr. Hatchell was born the son of the late Rebecca “Reba” Elizabeth Wells Hatchell and Leroy Bunyon Hatchell.He was a veteran of the US Marines and served two tours in Vietnam.He retired from Francis Marion University as the Director of Public Safety.Mr. Hatchell was a member of Florence Baptist Temple and the Jimmy Lee Sunday School Class.He was a member of the Chief of Police Association, the VFW, the American Legion and a former member of the Elks Club. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Jacquelynn “Jackie” Adrianne Allen Hatchell; his son, Calvin Wells Hatchell, Jr., and brother, Leroy B. Hatchell, Jr. Mr. Hatchell is survived by two grandchildren, Corinne Maree Hatchell of Florence and Joshua Wells Hatchell of Lebanon, ME; great-granddaughter, Emma Hatchell; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Bergeron-Harris; and a number of nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Florence Baptist Temple Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday at Florence Baptist Temple Chapel.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
