Carlene Cox Turner Florence, SC Carlene Cox Turner, 90, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Mrs. Turner was born in Florence, SC, a daughter of the late Edward Evander and Agatha Langston Cox.She was a lifelong member and the oldest member of Evergreen Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Erve Turner; two brothers, Edward Cox and Ernest Cox; and a sister, Margie Wolley. Surviving are three children, Wayne (Linda) Turner of Darlington, Nancy (Bobby) McLain and Betty Cook and her fiancée, Waylon Smith all of Florence; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel.Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Evergreen Baptist Church, 6316 Pamplico Highway, Effingham, SC 29541 or to McLeod Hospice House, 1203 East Cheves Street, Florence, SC 29506. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
