Carolyn Stone Culberson

Carolyn Stone Culberson, 69, of Mount Pleasant, SC, passed away January 8, 2024. She was born the daughter of the late Jackson Carter Stone and Mary Poston Stone. Mrs. Culberson loved Charleston and the beach. She was a very intellectual woman. She was strong-willed, social and a loving person who made the most of life. She also loved movies, books, painting, and music, especially blues music. She was also a big gamecock’s fan. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, William Arthur Culberson; and son, William Johnston. She is survived by her sons, Van Hartsell (Jillian) of Florence, SC, and Jonathan Rogerson (Amber) of Kinston, NC; grandchildren, Samantha Hartsell (Rasheem McKenzie) of McBee, SC, Charleston Daniel Rogerson, Copeland Banks Rogerson, Campbell Brooks Rogerson, all of Kinston, NC; great-grandchildren, Genesis and Symphony McKenzie; sisters, Jean Anderson, Patricia Taira, and Diane Lee. The family will receive friends Wednesday January 10, 2024, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. A funeral Service will be held Thursday January 11, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. A burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
