Carrie Mae Ard Munn

EFFINGHAM, SC- Carrie Mae Ard Munn, age 75 went to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 4, 2011. She passed away peacefully at McLeod Hospice in Florence, SC with family members by her side. She was born April 17, 1936 in Lake City, SC to the late Berkley and Lillian Ard. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.She fulfilled her dearest wish, to watch her children grow up and prosper. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charlie Ard, sister, Betty Prosser and grandson, James Ulia Cole. Also the fathers of her children Harry Frank Munn and Johnathon David Petty. She is survived by seven daughters, Lutricia (Jackie) Gaymon of Scranton, SC, Susie (Multer) Lynch of Effingham, SC, Gaynell (Mark) Culpepper of Box Springs, GA, Mary (Carl) Kraft of Effingham, SC,Vanessa Munn of Florence, SC, April (Darryll) Parsons of Smiths Station, AL and Johnette (Will) Touchberry of Timmonsville, SC, four sons, Perry (Bonnie) Munn of Darlington, SC, Larry (Terri) Munn of Columbus, GA, Wayne (Cindy) Munn of Effingham, SC and Howard (Becky) Petty of Florence, SC. Thirty eight grandchildren, sixty two great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. One sister, Margie Nell Linyard of Lake City, SC and one brother Sam (Jo) Ard of Pamplico, SCandnumerous nieces, nephews and loved ones. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 7 from 7-9pm at Stoudenmire-DowlingFuneral Home,2402 S. Irby St, Florence, SC and other times at her home,5266 Clearbrook Rd, Effingham, SC. Services will be officiated by Pastor Mac Atkinson, Jr.and Sr. Pastor Reedy Saverance on Thursday, September 8 at 4:00 pm at Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church, 7005 Friendfield Rd, Effingham, SC.Interment will follow at McLaughlin Cemetery.
