Cathy Ann Morris

On Tuesday, January 18, 2022, our precious Catt, as she has been lovingly called, gained her eternal residence and wings in heaven.Cathy Ann Morris, 66, was born in Florence on December 4, 1955 to the late Benjamin James and Lillian Exie Turner Morris.She grew up, attended school, and remained in the Tans Bay area of Florence her whole life, with only her last 10-years residing in Coward with her niece Stephany, after the death of her parents. Ben and Lillian understood their new bundle of love would face more difficult challenges than most other children would face, as Catt’s special needs were evident early-on.They did not allow her to use those special needs to be excused from being a loving, kind human-being or to let everyone else do things for her.They trained and taught her to overcome those limitations as much as possible.She was a fighter until the very end. Catt was always kind, full of life, and sharp witted!Her sense of humor never waivered no matter the problem or challenge she was facing.She got this wonderful trait from her daddy.Catt always moved on from negativity or problems with a smile on her face, and always exhibited unconditional love for everyone.She learned that art of displaying grace from her mama.And that giggle and laughter? Oh, how soothing, yet excitable, was her contagious giggle and laughter!Catt always found a way to see the positive and love in any situation.She got that blessing from Jesus. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, several aunts and uncles, cousins, and close friends.But now, she is with them all and what a day of rejoicing it must be! Catt leaves behind, for now, a family to cherish memories of fun, laughter, and even sad times as that too is in the beauty of life.She is survived by her brother, Benjy (Peggy) Morris; nieces Ashley (Michael) Morris and Stephany (Ryder) Morris; great-nephews and great-niece Chandlyr, Lillyanna, Turner, Emmyt, Mikey, Jacob, Brian, and Shane; and sister-in-love Debbie Hosford. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 24, 2022, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens.
