Charles A Gray

Charles Gray, 68, of Effingham, SC, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023. Mr. Gray was born in Florence, SC, the son of the late Charlie Gray and Eunice McCutcheon Gray. He was a lifelong member of Lebanon Freewill Baptist Church and graduated from Francis Marion University with a Bachelor’s degree. Mr. Gray was married to his loving wife, Fran Gray, for 42 years, with whom he shared the passion of travel. He is preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife, Fran Gray; brothers, Cecil (Sharon) Gray and Dennis Gray; and sister, Betty Poston. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Lebanon Church Building Fund, 7001 Friendfield Rd, Effingham, SC 29541. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at Lebanon Free Will Baptist Church on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at 2:00 PM. Entombment will follow at Mount Hope Mausoleum.
