Charles "Buck" Owens Effingham, SC Charles "Buck" Owens, 81, died Saturday evening, April 21, 2012 in the McLeod Hospice House, after an illness. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Lebanon Cemetery. Burial will follow, directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Mr. Owens was born in Florence Co.,SC a son of the late Henry and Lois Carraway Owens. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He loved Fishing and his passion was Fox Hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 46 years, Bobbie Jean Oakley Owens; 2 brothers, Richard and Luie Owens and a sister, Elma Lee Defee. Surviving are his children, Andy Owens, Kenny Owens, Belva (Scott) Purvis and Lynn (Dannie) Timmons all of Effingham; 5 grandchildren, Vickie Zinker, Leigh Lewis, Kristin Timmons, Jennifer Turner and Matthew Timmons all of Effingham; brother, James "Sambo" Owens of Effingham; 3 sisters, Ruby Jordan of Effingham, Elvie Phillips of North Carolina and Grace Allen of Effingham; 4 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
