Ching Kee "Kenny" Cheng Florence, SC Ching Kee "Kenny" Cheng, 65, died Saturday, March 10, 2012 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mr. Cheng was born in Hong Kong, a son of the late Hong Cheng and Sin-Kew Lau. Kenny attended the University of Ottawa in Canada from 1969 – 1973 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He recently retired after 38 years in the restaurant business. Kenny and his family moved to Florence, SC., in 1974 and started his first restaurant in Florence (formerly known as the Mandarine Restaurant on S. Irby Street). Later, he acquired and operated Little Caesar Franchises in Florence, Sumter, and Lake City. Surviving are his loving wife of 38 years, Wun Mun "Wendy" Wong Cheng of Florence; children, Felita Clark and her husband, Edward Clark, Jr., of Raleigh, NC., Gordon Cheng and his wife, Georgeanne Cheng of Charleston, SC., and Vicki Cheng of Charleston, SC; brothers, Ching Yaw "Lawrence" Cheng and his wife, MeiWa "Dora" Cheng of Florence, SC, Ching Cheung Cheng and Ching Lau Cheng all of Hong Kong; sister, Lai Yung Cheng of Hong Kong; grandchildren, Evan Clark, Taylor Cheng and Piper Cheng; a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
