Christie Scurry Robinson

Florence, SC Christie Scurry Robinson, 54, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Carolinas Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Mrs. Robinson was born in Florence, SC , a daughter of Carolyn Avin Scurry and the late James T. Scurry.She has been a registered nurse since 1976 having worked in the Saunders, Florence General, Floyd Medical Associates, and Carolinas Hospital.Christie loved spending time with her granddaughter Maris, loved working in the yard and taking care of all her beloved animals. She is preceded in death in addition to her father, by her son, Charles "Charlie" Kenneth Robinson, Jr.in 2001. Surviving are her husband of 36 years, Charles Kenneth "Kenny" Robinson of the home; a daughter, Brandy R. Hysong of Florence; a granddaughter, Charlie Maris Hysong of Florence; her mother, Carolyn Scurry of Florence; brothers, James Thomas "Tommy" Scurry, Jr., Alvin Randolf "Randy" (Marilyn) Scurry, and Glenn Barry (Pam) Scurry all of Florence; a very special friend, Beth Atkinson; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, September 26, 2011 at Greenwood Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
