Christine Mary King

Christine Mary King Lamar, SC Christine Mary King, 48, of Lamar, SC, died Monday morning, January 16, 2012 in the McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Mrs. King was born in Elizabeth, NJ, a daughter of James J. and Mary Ellen Powell Devlin. She was employed for twenty-two years with Blue Cross Blue Shield of SC from which she retired in December 2011. She graduated from South Florence High School, Class of 1981 and had continued her education, attending The University of South Carolina and Francis Marion University. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Florence. Surviving are her loving and devoted husband, W. Michael King of Lamar; daughter, Kelly M. King of Atlanta, Ga; parents of Highpoint, NC; sister, Bonnie J. Lawton and her husband, Doug Lawton of Clarkesville, Ga; her beloved pet dog, Jordan. A Christian Wake service will be held from 6:00-6:15 Friday evening, January 20, 2012 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Following the Wake service the family will receive friends until 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be said at 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning, January 21, 2012 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 2536 Hoffmeyer Rd., Florence.
