Danny Mitchell Coker

Danny Mitchell Coker, 69, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023. Mr. Coker was born in Florence, SC a son of the late Laurie Cecil Coker and Mellie Mae “Polly” Graham. He was adopted at the age of 4 and raised by L.J. and Dolly Coker. He was a veteran of the US Navy and worked as a machinist. Danny was a quiet, humble, hardworking man. He was preceded in death by his parents; his adopted parents; son, D.J. Coker, Jr.; brother, Larry Coker; half-brother, Derrick Gaymon; and brothers-in-law, Michael Player and Wade Moore. Surviving are his daughter, Ginger Evans; granddaughter, Alannah Coker; special friend, Donna Coleman; brother, Bobby (Phyllis) Coker; sisters, Elaine Moore, Ann (Henry) Humphries, Naomi Player, and Yolanda Courie; half-sisters, Wendy Gaymon and Debbie Matthews; and sister-in-law, Jo Ellyn Coker. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Florence National Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
