David Wayne Powell

David Wayne Powell, 40, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024. David was born in Florence, SC the son of the late Dewey Wayne Powell and Sheryl Dianne Collins Jones. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Charlden Powell and Zualla Powell; maternal grandparents, Robert M. Collins, Sr. and Marian Collins; and stepfather, Kenneth Jones. He is survived by his mother, Sheryl Jones; brothers, Christopher Ray Filyaw and Stephen Dionne (Donna) Filyaw; and his niece and nephews, Elizabeth, Joshua and Zachary (Jordan) Filyaw; and longtime significant other, Fallon Stafford, and their dog, Devo. David was a grateful believer in Jesus Christ and loved being a part of his forever family at Celebrate Recovery at Palmetto Street Church of God. He was passionate about many things, the Atlanta Braves, the Georgia Bulldogs, Pokeman and sneakers. There will be a church led memorial service at 2:00 PM September 7, 2024, at Northwood Family Worship Center at 1100 E McIver Road, Darlington, SC.
