Debbie H. Matthews

Debbie Harrelson Matthews, 66, of Florence, SC, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024. She is the daughter of the late Lonnie Lee Harrelson and Mary Bazen Harrelson. Debbie was high school sweethearts with her loving husband. She loved talking on the phone with her family. She adored her grandchildren, and they were her heart. She also adored her daughters. She loved going to the beach and getting a good tan. She was the owner and operator of Central Avenue for many years, and she made the best macaroni and cheese. She loved to coach sports. She also was a dare devil and very adventurous. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Vernon Lee Harrelson and sister, Barbara Lynn Harvey. She is survived by her husband, Eddie Matthews; daughters, Meredith Skelton, and Nina M. (Jonathan David) Stevenson; grandchildren, Jonathan Cade Stevenson, Isabella Sky Stevenson, and Mary-Kaitlyn Riley Skelton; brother, John Mack (Joyce) Harrelson; sisters, Sabrina Hardwick and Joyce Harrelson; nieces, Rosie Tyndal and Andrea Ward. A memorial service will be held on 3:00 PM Friday, March 8, 2024 at Gospel Temple Worship Center.
