Donna Matthews Land

Donna Matthews Land, 62, of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022. Mrs. Land was born in Florence, SC a daughter of the late Garland Keith Matthews and Shirley Jean Burrows Matthews. She was a graduate of J.C. Lynch High School in Coward, Florence Darlington Tech, and earned her Respiratory Therapist Certificate from MUSC in Charleston. Donna worked in hyperbaric medicine where she helped set up and operate McLeod Regional Medical Center’s first hyperbaric chamber and had been a respiratory therapist with McLeod for 35 years. She was a member of Tans Bay Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, James Allen Land, II; son, James Allen “Jamie” Land, III of Florence; brothers, Joey (Sandra) Matthews of New Hope, SC and Jimmy (Randi) Poston of Columbia, SC; niece, Laura Matthews; nephews, Josh Matthews and Cody Keith Poston. The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 am Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Florence Memorial Gardens with the service to be held at 11:00 am in the mausoleum chapel directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
