Dorothy Mae Evans Kelly

Dorothy Evans Kelly, 98, of Scranton, SC, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. Mrs. Kelly was born in Florence County, South Carolina, the daughter of the late General Myers Evans and Nella Mae McKnight Evans. She was a dedicated woman, who worked 27 years as a Seamstress for Sherman Manufacturing Co. Darlington. She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker, who adored her family. Mrs. Kelly was a devout Christian lady, who attended Scranton Baptist Church. God has blessed her with a long life, with a family that loves her unconditionally. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Thomas Kelly Sr.; son, David G. McCoy; and by her 6 siblings. Surviving are her son, Ernest Thomas Kelly Jr. (J.R.), of Scranton, SC; daughters, Ernestine Lynch (Mike Kanchel), of Florence, SC, and Margie McCoy, of Lexington, SC; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Agape Hospice, 301 Rainbow Drive, Florence, SC 29501 or to Scranton Baptist Church, PO Box 130, Scranton, SC 29591. Graveside service will be held at Florence National Cemetery at 2:00 PM on Monday, June 26, 2023 led by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
