Earl Brennon Chavis

Earl Brennon Chavis, 87, of Florence, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. Mr. Chavis was born in Pembroke, NC a son of the late Ulysses P. Chavis and Lena Oxendine Chavis.He was a US Navy Veteran and a member of The Transfiguration of Our Savior Greek Orthodox Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Potista N. Chavis; brothers, Sylvester Chavis and Adrian Chavis; sisters, Garnetta Chavis, Marcelene Johnson, and Muriel Hunt; sisters-in-law, Myrna Chavis, Bobbie Jean Chavis, and Rita Chavis; brothers-in-law, James Lowry and A.C. Locklear. Surviving are his children, Sabrina V. Chavis, Dino U. (Ann) Chavis, John P. (Robin) Chavis, and Patrice C. (Mickey) Dill; grandchildren, Chas (Ashlee) Head, Niki (Reed) Sansbury, Stephanie (Justin) Arenas, John (Sheila Ann) Chavis, Bre Chavis, and Gina (Zach) Poland; great-grandchildren, Joaquin, Chavis, Holland, Brennon, Kingsley, Charlotte, Temple Lynn, and Emmalee. Memorials may be made to the Transfiguration of Our Savior Greek Orthodox Church, 2990 S. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 pm Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home with a Trisagion service to be held at 6:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the Transfiguration of Our Savior Greek Orthodox Church.Entombment will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens.
