Earl J Glenn

Earl J. Glenn, 72, of Florence, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, May 14, 2023. Mr. Glenn was born in Florence, SC, a son of the late Ronald David Glenn and Mary Elizabeth Glenn. Mr. Glenn was married to the love of his life, Rita Glenn, for 46 years. He loved his family and his family loved him. He was a Sergeant 1st class when he retired from the military after 21 years of service. He then retired from Francis Marion University as Captain of Public Safety after 20 years of employment. He was also a member of Palmetto Street Church of God. Surviving are his son, Earl “Jamie” Glenn, Jr.; daughter, Cherie Glenn (Chuck) McDonald; grandchildren, Breanna (Adam) Muse and Joshua Helms; great-grandchildren, Evelyn Muse, Rylee Suggs, Ravyn Suggs, Addyson Helms, Alayah Helms, and Paislee Muse; brother-in-law, Bill (Patricia)Lockard; sister-in-love, Reba Lockard; sister-in-law, Theresa Glenn McCutcheon; and three nieces. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Rita A. Lockard Glenn; brother, Ronald “Dougie” Douglas Glenn. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00PM Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Palmetto Street Church Of God. A funeral service be held at 2:00 PM with Reverend John Mark Calhoun officiating, following visitation at the church.
