Earl Joseph Godbold, Jr.

Earl Joseph Godbold, Jr., 86, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025. He was born in Florence, SC. to the late Ruth Dudley Godbold and Earl Joseph Godbold, Sr. Earl was a longtime member of Rehoboth Baptist Church, was employed with Gamewell Mechanical for many years, and served in the South Carolina National Guard. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Levell Nettles Godbold; son, Earl Joseph “Joey” Godbold, III; brothers, Wilson, Bucky, Bubba, and Jackie Godbold. Surviving is a daughter, Sherry Wilkes; grandchildren, Brandi Anderson (James), Brooke Wilkes (Tim), and Brigette Wilkes; great grandchildren, Dakoda (Cassie), Vanessa, Royce, Elijah, Egypt, Kalub, and Parker; and great- great grandchild, Bubba, and 2 on the way; sisters, Ann Witt, Nancy Amerson, and Alice Gail Godbold. The family will receive friends, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at Godbold Family Cemetery at 12:30 PM.
