Edward Lewis Driver, Jr.

Edward L. Driver, 74, of Myrtle Beach, SC passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022. He was born in Portsmouth Virginia, the son of the late Edward and Ella Louise Driver. Mr. Driver is survived by his devoted wife Lynne Edgerton Driver of Myrtle Beach, and his two children E. Preston Driver (Katie) of Florence, SC and E. Ashley Driver of Conway, SC, both by his late wife Betty Cheryl Gunter Driver. His surviving siblings are sister, Diane Rose (Jerry) of Clayton, NC, sister, Angela Sample (Joe) of Garner, NC; sister, Cindy Atkinson of Raleigh, NC and brother, AV Driver (Emily) of Clayton, NC. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as a medic from June 1967 to September 1971. He then pursued a career as a certified respiratory therapist for 39 years; caring for patients at Bruce Hospital, McLeod Hospital and home care for RPI of Florence, SC. He graciously served the Lord leading a men’s study group, the R.A.s, and an adult Sunday School Class for his church affiliations. He requests that memorials be sent to the Billy Graham Association (billygraham.org). Memorial services to celebrate his precious life will be held at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home at 3:00 PM on Friday, August 26, 2022. Visitation will follow immediately after at the funeral home.
