Edward “Ed” Earl Riggan, Jr., 74, of Florence, SC, passed away on August 29, 2021. He was born on March 16, 1947, the son of the late Kate and Earl Riggan in Macon, NC. He served in the Navy for four years as an Aviation Ordnance man, and worked with CSX and retired from Amtrak as a train conductor. He was a member of Grace and Glory Ministries in Coward, SC. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Riggan, of 32 years and has two children from his previous marriage to Karen Riggan. They are Tim Riggan of Fredericksburg, VA and Shannan Kelly of Mauldin, SC. He also has two step-children, John Patterson of Buffalo, NY and Mary Patterson of Tucson, AZ along with 6 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter; he leaves behind his brother, Glenn Riggan of Macon, NC; sisters, Lois Marsh of Alexandria, VA and Joan Daniels of Kill Devil Hills, NC; brother-in-law, Doug Grady of Salado, TX; and many nieces and nephews. He has a predeceased brother, Ronnie Riggan. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace and Glory Ministries Cornerstone Sunday School Class, 4104 US 52, Coward, SC29530. The family will receive friends from 2 – 3 pm Friday, September 24, 2021 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home with a memorial service to be held at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
