Edward Keith Snowden, 78, of Florence, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021. Mr. Snowden was born in Hemingway, SC a son of the late Thomas M. Snowden, Sr. and Elizabeth Bryant Hicks.He was a charter member of Indiantown Presbyterian and later a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and was a US Marine Corps veteran having served during the Vietnam Conflict.He attended schools in Williamsburg Co. until he later moved to Hartsville for 2 years, then graduated from McClenaghan High School in Florence.He graduated from Florence-Darlington Tech with an Associates Degree in Tool and Die and received the Who’s Who Award for Junior Colleges. He had worked as a Tool and Die Maker and Mechanical Engineer for the Railroad, La-Z-Boy, and Caterpillar, Inc. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Carol Jean Wilson Snowden. Surviving are his daughters, Shanda Snowden and Crystal Snowden, both of Florence; grandchildren, Hunter (Lori) Capps, Blake Capps, Morgan Snowden (Chad) Rabon, and Jonathon Harrell; great-grandchildren, Allie Warner, and Bransen Capps, and Blake and Bayler Rabon; brothers, Thomas M. Snowden, Jr. of Kentucky, Steve B. (Jayne) Snowden and John D. (Deryl) Snowden, both of Florence; sister, Sarah (David) Thomas of Murphy, NC, and sister-in-law, Betty L. Matthews of Sanford, NC. The family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:30 am Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.A graveside service with military honors will follow at 11:00 am in the Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
