Elbert Yancy Wells

Elbert Yancy Wells, 68, of Florence, SC, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. Mr. Wells was born in Florence, SC, the son of the late Yancy Edward Wells and Margie Turner Wells. He was a member of Hoffmeyer Road Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and an Elder. Mr. Wells worked as the Director of the Radiology Technology Program, for 30 years, at Florence Darlington Technical College and McLeod Regional. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, Pops, friend, and teacher. Mr. Wells was a man of the Lord and left a legacy of his faith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Wilbur Dority. Surviving are his loving wife, of 45 years, Carolanne Wells; son, Mark Yancy (Shannon) Wells; daughters, Charlotte Wells (Josh) Styles and Catherine Laurel Wells; grandchildren, Cara Styles, Anna Styles, Elise Styles, John Mark Wells, Sarah Wells, and Abigail Wells; and sister Jean (Ken) Delson. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Hoffmeyer Road Baptist Church. The burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
