Eleanor Moseley Foster

ELEANOR MOSELEY FOSTER FLORENCE, SC ELEANOR MOSELEY FOSTER, 91, died Friday, April 20, 2012 in a local nursing facility. Mrs. Foster was born December 1, 1920 in Anderson, SC, a daughter of the late Richard Henry Moseley and Elizabeth Kay Moseley.She graduated from Winthrop College in Rock Hill, SC and received a B.S. degree in Home Economics.She worked for the Clemson University Extension service as Extension Home Economist in Florence County for 20 years until her retirement in 1973.In 1969, Mrs. Foster was presented the Distinguished Service Award.The award presented "for achievement and leadership" is one of the highest honors that can come to an Extension Home Economist, because it represents a deep dedication to the Cooperative Extension work and to the people she served.Mrs. Foster was a member of First Baptist Church in Florence, the Cheerful Helpers Sunday School Class, the 50th Anniversary Club and the S.A.M. Club.Eleanor was married to the late Samuel Victor "Vic" Foster for 64 years and they enjoyed many happy times at their lake house on Lake Wateree. Survivors include her children, Beth and Ed Robinson of Florence, Kris and Bob Shouldice of Midlothian, VA; grandchildren, Scott and Tara Robinson of Birmingham, Alabama, Brett Robinson of Huntsville, Alabama, Leigh and Michael Hibler of Baltimore, MD and Karen and Peter Simon of Germany; great-grandchildren, Noah, Jordan, Lily and Alli Simon, Mattox and Adam Hibler and Reese Robinson who has a little sister due this summer.Mrs. Foster is also survived by a special brother-in-law, John William "Bill" Foster of Columbia and two nephews, John and Lee. Visitation will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.Services will be held at 3:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
