Elizabeth Cribb Docherty

Elizabeth Cribb Docherty, 77, of Florence, passed away in her home on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. Elizabeth was born August 24th 1945 in Fort Jackson, Columbia, SC. Daughter of the late Amzie Clifton Cribb and Mary Ann Brown Cribb. She grew up in Sumter SC with her brother Clifton Cribb (Summerton SC), and sister Susan Cribb (Florence SC). Elizabeth with her husband and children moved to Florence in 1975. She was a devoted mother and wife. Her interests included natural history, gardening, birdwatching and traveling. She was actively involved with the Friends of the Florence Museum serving as a board member for several years. Elizabeth also enjoyed taking dogs to the hospital for pet therapy and garden club with her friends. She was a member of Elim Baptist Church. Elizabeth leaves behind her husband of 56 years Jon H. Docherty Sr MD. Her son J. Harrell Docherty Jr MD, Becky Hart (Florence) and grandchildren Gatlin, Palmer and Mariah Docherty. Her daughter Rebecca Docherty Latham DVM (Bluffton SC) and grandchild Grace Hanna. Memorials may be made to the Florence museum and Florence animal shelter. The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 am Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home with the service to be held at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel.
