Elizabeth "Lib" Kirven McKay Florence, SC Elizabeth "Lib" Kirven McKay, 84, died Thursday, February 3, 2011 at the McLeod Hospice House after an illness. Mrs. McKay was born in Florence, SC a daughter of the late Harry Thomas and Sadie Middleton Kirven.She retired from sales in 1990 and had owned McLib's Country Dumplings.She was a member of the Rehoboth Baptist Church.Mrs. McKay loved life and enjoyed each moment.She never met a stranger and always lent a helping hand.She had many friendships and cherished each one of them. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Bernard "Mac" McKay; brothers, Harry "Buck" Kirven and William "Bill" Frank Kirven, Sr. Surviving are her sisters, Hazel Roberson of Charlotte, NC and Febbie Mae Melitte, both of Florence; sister-in-law, Pauline Polly Kirven of Florence and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday at the Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel.Entombment will follow directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Rehoboth Baptist Church, 1408 Old Wallace Gregg Road, Florence, South Carolina 29506 and the McLeod Hospice House, PO Box 100551, Florence, SC 29502, www.mcleodfoundation.org. The family will receive friends 2 – 3 PM Sunday at the Florence Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel prior to the service. The family would like to thank the nursing staff and doctors at McLeod Regional Medical Center and at the McLeod Hospice House.Thank you for the encouraging words and care that was given to us at this time.Wesee you as angels here on earth and will always be grateful for you. The family also wishes to thank the nursing staff at the Bethea Home in Darlington for their care of Mrs. McKay during her illness.
