Elizabeth Scaturro

Elizabeth Scaturro, fondly known as Betty, age 90, passed away on Thursday, April 21st, 2022 at the Manor where she had resided for the past 3 and a half years. Betty was born in Newark, NJ, daughter of the late Salvatore Romano and Anna (Genna) Romano. She was raised in Union, NJ and once married moved in 1968 with her family to Florence, SC. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where she was very active in the Women’s Group and was named Woman of the Year. She was a dedicated and devoted homemaker to her two children and her loving husband, John, Sr. Surviving are her children John Scaturro, Jr. (Bradley) and Debbie Buchman. Grandchildren, Kristen (Hanna) Scaturro, Kaylyn Edmondson, Alex (Kristin) Buchman and Savannah and Emma Buchman, greatgrandchildren Colton and Callie Edmondson; nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, John Scaturro, Sr. and her sister Mary Anne Martino. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at ALZ.org. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, April 26th, 2022 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Monday, April 25th, 2022 at the funeral home.
