Evander "Bubba" Waitus Godbold

Evander “Bubba” Waitus Godbold, 84, of Florence, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023. Mr. Godbold was born in Florence, SC, a son of the late Earl Godbold, Sr. and Ruth Taylor Godbold. He was a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church where he was a deacon and had been a diesel mechanic. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Taylor Godbold; brothers, Bucky Godbold, Wilson Godbold, and Jackie Godbold. Surviving are his sons, Randy (Janet Agius) Godbold and Philip Godbold, both of Florence; daughter, Marian (Otis) Mayo of Florence; grandchildren, Christina Quick, Rebecca Watts, Ashley Godbold, Joshua Mayo, Marissa Godbold, Jordan Mayo, Philip Godbold, II, and Jessica Mayo; 9 great-grandchildren; twin brother, Earl Godbold, Jr.; sisters, Ann Witt, Nancy Godbold, and Alice Godbold; and his canine child, Louie. The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 pm Monday, January 9, 2023 at Rehoboth Baptist Church with the service to be held at 2:00 pm in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow in the Godbold Family Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
