EVELEA HICKS THREADGILL Florence, SC EVELEA HICKS THREADGILL, 80, died Monday, August 15, 2011 at the McLeod Hospice House. Mrs. Threadgill was born in Florence, SC a daughter of the late William Curtis Hicks and Onamae Lee Hicks. She was the Vice President and branch manager of the First Federal Bank on Second Loop Road, as well as secretary/ treasurer and part owner of Vans Auto Sales. She was a member of the Omar Provetts, the Daughters of the Nile, the Milcah #77 of Charleston/Mount Pleasant, and was also a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class.She was a member of Low Country Model "A" Club of Charleston, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Margie Ard, and a special niece, Nicki Ard. She and her husband, Evander Stevenson "Van" Threadgill of Florence were married April 7, 1950, in addition to her husband, survivors include her son, William E. "Billy" (Dottie) Threadgill; daughter, Janice Threadgill Frye both of Florence; nephews, Ken (Tammy) Ard and Sammy (Robin) Ard; grandchildren, Angela Frye (Jamey) Hickox, William E "Chip" (Stacy) Threadgill, and Michael G Threadgill, all of Florence; one great-grandchild, Logan Hickox, of Florence; her special friends, Millie and Harry Love and Kate Powers. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the funeral home and other times at the residence. Memorials may be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church Building Fund, 524 S. Ebenezer Road, Florence, SC 29501; or to the McLeod Hospice House, PO Box 100551, Florence, SC 29502; or to a charity of one's choice. Special thanks to the McLeod Medical Center staff and Doctors, the staff of the Hospice House, and to her caregivers.
