Francis Marion Humphrey, Sr.

FRANCIS MARION HUMPHREY, SR. FLORENCE, SC FRANK HUMPHREY, SR., 71, of Florence, died Tuesday morning, August 2, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Humphrey was born in Lee County, a son of the late Levi and Elizabeth Humphrey. He retired from Estes Express after driving a truck for over 43 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty Lou Edwards Humphrey, his son, David Humphrey, his brother, M.L. Humphrey and his sister, Mary Lee McDaniel. Surviving are his daughter, Lisa (Brad) Rainwater, of Florence; son, Marion (Betty) Humphrey, Jr.of Florence;brothers, Bill Humphrey of Columbia; Robert (Wanda) Humphrey of Atlanta, GA, John (Peggy) Humphrey of Manning; sister, Garris Norris of Columbia;grandchildren, Frankie Humphrey, Stevie Byrd, Melissa (Lance) Gaskins, Mary Humphrey; great-grandchildren, Reanna Byrd and Lucy Humphrey. Memorials may be made to Elim Baptist Church, 1303 Olanta Highway, Effingham, SC 29541. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Florence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
