Frederick L. Cordrey

Frederick L. Cordrey, 82, from Monroe, Michigan, passed away peacefully in his home in Florence, SC on September 18, 2023. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Earl Cordrey and Julia Cousino Cordrey. Mr. Cordrey has been married to his loving wife, Marie Eanes Cordrey for 61 years. He was a veteran of The United States Marine Corps and served in Vietnam where he received the Vietnam Commendation Medal, Purple Heart, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation Gallantry Cross along with other multiple commendation and medals during his 21 years in the Marine Corps. Mr. Cordrey loved to collect Marine Corps memorabilia and follow and watch his favorite hockey team; the Washington Capitals. Most importantly he loved and cherished his family. Mr. Cordrey was predeceased by his parents, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, George and Dorothy Eanes; nephews, Chuck and Kevin McBride. He is survived by his son, and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Lauren Cordrey; his daughter, Tammy Cordrey; his daughter, and her significant other, Tonya Cordrey and Brian Larson; his grandchildren, Dr. Ashley Allen, Casey Cordrey, and Kelsey Cordrey and her spouse Margaret; his sister, Bonnie McBride, and niece, Julie Prill and spouse Todd. The family will receive friends 11:30-12:30 PM Monday, September 25, 2023, at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. A graveside funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at Florence National Cemetery.
