FREEMAN SHELTON TAYLOR FLORENCE, SC FREEMAN SHELTON TAYLOR, 87, of Florence, died Monday, December 06, 2010 at his residence after an illness. Mr. Taylor was born in Mt. Airy, North Carolina a son of the late Germa Carl Taylor and Daisy Beatrice Shelton Taylor.He was a US Navy veteran having served during World War II.He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where in his later years was a Bishop three times, a Patriarch and a Temple Sealer.Mr. Taylor retired as a store manager and salesman for Firestone Tire. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Yvonne Hiatt Taylor of Florence; sons, Kim (Kathy) Taylor of White Oak, NC, Del Craig Taylor of Columbia, SC and Eric Carl (Tara Elizabeth) Taylor of Trabuco Canyon, California; daughter, Terri Yvonne Taylor of Circle Pines, Minnesota; brother, Carl J. Taylor of Orem, Utah; sister, Pansy B. Seal of Mt. Airy, NC; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1620 Malden Drive, Florence, SC 29505. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, December 9, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.Burial will follow at the Florence National Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 12:00 AM Thursday, December 9, 2010 at the church prior to the service.
