George Horace Payne

George Horace Payne Florence, SC George Horace Payne, 73, of Florence, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Mr. Payne was born in Bridgeport, Alabama a son of the late George William and Willie Mae Lewis Payne.He was a Project Construction Manager for various construction companies, loved to fish, hunt and golf. He was preceded in death by his parents and by two sisters, Billie Payne Rogers and Inez Payne Cagle. Surviving are his loving wife of 34 years, Inez Britt Payne of Florence; children, Anga Johnson of Florence and Dennis Johnson of Pickens, SC; grandchildren, Leah Gainey and Michael Gainey, both of Florence and Lauren Johnson and Warren Johnson, both of Greenville, SC; brothers, Wendell Payne of Trenton, GA and John Edward Payne of Anderson, SC and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Good Hope United Methodist Church, Highway 261-E, Hemingway, SC29554.Burial will follow in the church cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home.
