George C. Keretses

George Keretses died Monday, May 16, 2022, after an illness. He was born on June 8, 1925, in Asheville, NC, the eldest son of three children born to Constantine and Katherine Keretses. He spent most of his life in Florence and was part owner of the Eatmore Restaurant which closed in the late 80’s.He was also called to serve his Country during WW II in the Pacific Theater serving on a landing craft in the US Navy. He is survived by his son Spero Keretses; his grandchildren: James, William and Mary; and a great-granddaughter, Maeve. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022, beginning at 10:30 AM at the Transfiguration of Our Savior Greek Orthodox Church, 2990 S. Cashua Drive in Florence, SC.Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery directed by Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Transfiguration of Our Savior Greek Orthodox Church.
